Are you aquainted with Dan Leonard, of Leonard School of Music? He is a wonderful person, and a superb teacher. My child now plays 3 instuments profiently, and has played 6 in 4 years. This year she was old enough to participate in his 2nd annual Night of Jazz, In Feb ,in which Danny enlisted other professionals to come in to play with the kids. It is a great fundraiser for the school. I have been in attendance when you have played at Cisco's, met you and enjoy your jazz immensely. I am now disabled from the medical profession, so music is so crutial for the soul. It's a healin' thing.

Dear Gary,
Just a note to say hello from Columbia. Have been asked to write an article on someone who has made a big difference in music of the Carolinas for a music anthology for Novello Press, and I have selected you. Your dedication to Blues music and keeping the tradition alive through your tireless efforts to book concerts, perform with local legends and educate listeners about the beauty of the Blues means a lot to the Carolinas - and, as a Blues deejay and professor of music history - to me personally.
Keep your energy up - we need you to keep doing what you do! I'll keep you posted on the book's publication date!
Love you much, my "Blues-Brother!"

Hey!
Great website! I'd love to visit Savannah later this year to listen to you!
QUESTION: Does Chuck Morris still play with you? I used to watch Chuck back in the Boston area in the early 90s when he had the "Sidewalk Blues Band".
Send Chuck my regards----and if you have his email or website address, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!

Saw you on Lowcountry Live and looking forward to your regular appearances on same. I like your music, and am an amateur musician myself, trying to play the guitar, keyboard, and drums, have 5 guitars all electric, 1 complete set of drums, and 2 keyboards, yearning for a TRITON and will get same soon. I was wondering if you had any videos and if not would you be interested in producing one in a local TV studio. I am associated with a local producion company called TECHNOMEDIA, WJRB-TV Channel 18, and Knology Channel 98. We are presently in the planning and implementation stages of building a 2000 square foot production studio her in Goose Creek and we already produce for several local talents.

Blues Matters!
April 16, 2006
Hey, just a note that a review of your CD featured in the latest issue of Blues Matters!...I’ve included an extract below…"Gary Erwin (aka Shrimp City Slim) is never idle within the Blues, whether that is being a Blues DJ, organising the Lowcounty Blues Bash SC or recording folks on his own label. Once in awhile he gets to record himself when not touring, and as much as I enjoyed his last outing I have to say he has topped it here. The disc has leanings towards N'awlins with doses of Tin Pan Alley fare, and comparisons to singer/pianist Paul Milns; observations thought provoking and the wry sit side......"
