RIP Mimi's Cafe - March 5, 2009

Wow, thinking of all the incredible gigs we had at Mimi's Cafe, 1241 Harborview Rd., Charleston (James Island). Bad enough that the Duffy sisters sold out at the end of 2008 to The Boathouse. Now tragedy: the building burned at 1 am this morning, less than three weeks since The Boathouse took over and went into business. I happened to drive by this afternoon, not aware of what happened last night, and was shocked to see the ruins of Mimi's with TV trucks hovering outside. Great memories; another legendary venue is gone.
