Shrimp City Slim: News

New live CD - August 15, 2011

It took eleven years, but here it comes: "Highway 77: Lowcountry Blues Live (Volume 2)" coming out on CD Baby in the next few days - digital downloads ONLY. Recorded at The Double Door in Charlotte, December 3, 2000, this is a wild & rockin' session with the road band du jour. Coming back from PA and VA, this was our last gig on the trip. Rockin' Jimmy Fenno, drums/vocals; Chuck The Cat Morris, harp/vocals; SCS keys (the old Korg 61-key job - split for bass!) and the ultra-versatile Mookie Brill who rips it up on guitar. Mostly covers but rambunctious as hell (it's the Charlotte Blues Society's Christmas party of that year)...a fun set that clocks in over 69 minutes. Watch for it shortly. I think you will like it if you've ever spent an evening with us in a club... :)

More new venues... - August 11, 2011

Cajun Kountry Kitchen Cafe, 1382B Remount Rd., North Charleston, SC /!/cajunkountry (the only Cajun/Creole restaurant in metro Charleston); Southern Seasons Grill (214 N. Cedar St., Summerville, SC) - awesome food prepared on the grill and blues on the patio!
