The SCS song "Allergic to Mink" (first recorded on Wanda Johnson's 2008 CD 'Hold What You Got') will get a fresh cover by Mr.Rickey Godfrey on his new "Nasty Man" CD, due out in October/November. Watch your regular outlets for the release.

Another SCS song about to be covered - August 30, 2010

Super singer/guitarist/keyboardist Rickey Godfrey (originally from Upstate SC but now living in Nashville) is covering "Allergic to Mink" on his new blues CD "Nasty Man" due out this fall. We heard the first tracking...some altered lyrics (it's a gender thing) and a switched-up groove (straight-ahead, not shuffle) stuff! Thanks, Rickey!

Thanks to the Pocono Blues Festival - July 26, 2010

...for hosting us & Wanda Johnson at this past weekend's 19th annual. Both of our shows (noon on the Main Stage, 8 pm in the tent) on Saturday were well-received & we sold a lot of CDs. Thanks, everyone! We had the thrill of meeting Smoky Robinson on our ATL/PHL flight and Mavis Staples at our hotel. What a great event and it was a pleasure to be a part of it. Thanks to Michael Cloeren, impresario, and his excellent staff!

Thanks again to Professor Bottleneck (with Wim Geraets, bass, and Ben Paulssen, drums) for a handful of fun gigs in Germany and Holland. Now in Paris for five nights with Wanda Johnson and our SC-based band at the Hotel Meridien Etoile. Next week, I will do 10 shows with Dr Pickup based here in Ile de France...hope to see you at a show or two, merci.

Beach/shag/blue-eyed soul legends cover SCS song - May 6, 2010

The Mike Tronco Band (Mike was/is lead singer of legendary SC band "The Sensational Epics" - in biz since 1963; they cut the first version of "Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy" well before The Tams) has done a bang-up interpretation of "Good Good Love" (from SCS's 1998 CD "I Work Nights") and will release it on their new album. Thanks to everyone (audience, artists, organizers) who made our 2nd annual Pee Dee Blues Bash, April 23-24, Florence, SC such a big success. Brilliant performances from a host of int'l and homegrown USA artists - a few weather issues on Saturday morning - but WONDERFUL!

SCS opening for Buddy Guy in Myrtle Beach - April 8, 2010

We've had the pleasure of "sharing the stage" (we call it "opening for") so many great artists: BB King, Bobby Blue Bland, Jimmy Rogers, Junior Wells, etc. Now we get to add Buddy Guy to that list: Saturday, May 1 at the Myrtle Beach MayFest (Art & Film Celebration). Should be a ball!

Our regular season begins April 15 (every other Thursday, with a cruise EVERY week during July and August). However, please join us for two special cruises Thurs March 25 and Sat March 27 to coincide with the Cooper River Bridge Run...'Cue up BEFORE and AFTER the Run!
